SUMMARY: „The youth work quality of Tarvastu parish“
The main problem of this research was to find out the youth work quality of Tarvastu parish.
According to problem the aim of this research was to find out, what is the framework of quality of the youth work, current situation of Tarvastu parish youth work, which are the main strengths and main development needs.
In order to reach a conclusion, I found answers to following questions:
1. Which is the framework of quality of the youth work?
2. Which are the most developed youth work aspects?
3. What are the possible youth work development needs in Tarvastu parish?
I found following answers to research questions:
The framework of doing quality youth work is based on European Union, Estoninan and local government main purposes.
The most developed youth work in Tarvastu parish are: „There has been created diverse opportunitites for youth to participate in youth work”, “There has been created diverse opportunities to conduce enterprisingness“ and “prevention and support for solving problems is diverse and it is supported by cooperation network”.
It is noteworthy that 179 out of 253 potential youth work participants participate in recreational activities. It is possible due to financial support of Tarvastu local government. Tarvastu gymnasium has the key role of conducing the enterprisingness. It provides financial support for students to participate in different entrepreneurship trainings. In Tarvastu parish there is a network of youth work specialists (for example youth worker, leisure time manager and children protection specialist).
The main youth work development need of Tarvastu parish is to increase youth involvement in local government decisions. Youths need to develop habits of contributing to the discussion and raise awareness about the learning experience by participation. If the youth worker can reflect the views of young people, then the youth work will be more based on youths and community needs.
